Online English lessons, live from Cape Town, South Africa
A new language is a new view of life.
Shaped by a country where eleven languages share one conversation. Exam prep, everyday fluency, and the African languages we started with, all under one roof.
Learners joining us from Brazil, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Angola, and Russia
Whichever door you come through, every lesson runs on the same Ubuntu Framework: English competence plus the ability to actually connect across culture and language.
IELTS and exam-focused lessons built around your target band score, with diagnostic testing, targeted modules, and mock exams under real time pressure.
Everyday fluency built level by level from A2 to C1, with real conversation, real culture, and the Ubuntu Framework woven through every stage.
Both tracks include live speaking practice through Clubhouse rooms, so you're talking with real people, not just reciting to a screen.
Over a decade in language education, TEFL/TESOL certified, with a background in Anthropology and Chinese Studies. Speaks nine languages, including Mandarin, Setswana, isiZulu, isiXhosa, and conversational Afrikaans, and built the Ubuntu Framework this school runs on.
As Live Languages grows, every new teacher who joins is trained in the same framework, so the standard stays the same no matter who's in the room.
Live Languages began in 2020 teaching African languages. That's still at the center of everything we do.
Lessons run online from Cape Town, but you don't have to stop there. A few times a year, we open up a short in-person immersion here, Table Mountain, the coast, real conversation with real people, alongside the classes you already know.
If that sounds like your kind of trip, let us know and we'll keep you posted on the next one.
